2525 Fridley's Gap Road, Rockingham, Virginia 22802; 38.514336 N, 78.743122 W
About 1.3 miles from the Chapel, you will see one of Cyrus Rhodes' farms on the left. Drive on about another half a mile and you will find Jacob N. Rhodes farm on your left.
These farms were active in the early to late 1800s. Still surrounded by farmland today, you can imagine it when the fields were rich with crops and farm animals. It was Cyrus Rhodes who sold land to the Timber's and Grant's. Many from the community worked on his farms, as they possibly had done enslaved, prior to the Civil War. Jacob was the son of Cyrus. Just past Jacob's house, the road becomes Mountain Valley Road. Some families that lived south and west of this area were Moyer, Jones, Gibson, Toliver, Snyder and Madden.
